Results of Autumn 2014 Questionnaire

Thank you to the parents and carers who returned the 46 completed questionnaires to school recently. As I said at the time, the questionnaires really help us (as a school) to focus upon the things we are doing well but also (and perhaps more importantly) the areas where we need to rethink, evaluate or perhaps change. The area that has come out as needing some scrutiny from the surveys is homework. There were comments that we were asking children to complete too much work, but the basic requirements of St Francis' are that children complete their spellings, tables work and reading journals (4 times per week) as well as a range of homework tasks designed to help with topic work in school, social skills, ICT knowledge etc The homework therefore supports very much the ethos and vision of the school where every child is encouraged to "be the best they can be." To do this we need your support; hence the homework. It will certainly be an area we will scrutinise as a staff in the early part of 2015.

If there is anything else you would like to discuss on a more individual level, please do call in and arrange an appointment. In this way the school can continue to go from strength to strength.

Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Kind wishes

Mrs J Wilkinson
