Art and Design
Papyrus Paper
As part of our art work in Year 3, we have linked our learning of the Ancient Egyptians by creating our own Papyrus paper. We used ripped parcel paper with glue and water to stick down the parcel paper strips to create our own paper. It got very sticky but we persevered. The children worked very hard and we had a fun, creative afternoon.
Cartouche
To follow on with our Egyptian art we have designed our own Cartouches by writing our name in Hieroglyphics. It was a bit tricky to remember not to write left to right like we usually do in our books because Egyptian Hieroglyphics were written down. We will be transferring our designs to our own homemade Papyrus Paper.
