History
Anglo-Saxons
In Year 5 we have began our learning on the Battle of Hastings. The children worked together to re-enact part of the battle. They leant all about William Duke of Normandy, King of Normandy and Normandy itself. They will spend the next few weeks exploring the Bayeux Tapestry and learning more about the Battle of Hastings and the Anglo Saxons.
Egyptians
At the start of each new unit we think about what we already know about the topic. We then think of what facts and information we would like to find out, by composing a question.
We revisit this at the end of the unit where the children can self-asses their own learning and knowledge of the topic.
