Pupil Premium Awards 2014!!

Everyone at St Francis' was delighted to discover that they are regional winners in a national competition run jointly by Times Education Supplement and the Department for Education. The prize has been awarded as recognition of the exciting, innovative and creative curriculum that St Francis' teaches to its pupils. There were over 200 entries, and our school was selected by a panel of judges that included Dr John Dunford (Pupil Premium Champion) and Dr Kevan Collins, Chief Executive of the Education Endowment Foundation. We have been invited to attend the awards ceremony in London on June 25th at the Corinthia Hotel. Mrs Wilkinson (Head) Mr Bowes (Chair of Governors) and Emma Pennington (Learning Mentor) will be attending on behalf of the school - congratulations have been showered upon us for our achievement from many quarters including Jeremy Fitt and the Diocesan Board of Education, Caroline O'Neill ( Director of Children's' and Young Peoples Services, Durham) Rachael Shimmin (Corporate Director, Durham.) Of course, none of this would be possible without the strong partnerships that we have with our parents and carers and the whole community. On behalf of us all, thank you! We will certainly let you all know how we get on at the end of the month!http://www.pupilpremiumawards.co.uk/ppawards2014/regional-winners-2014
