Admissions

St Francis Junior School has an admissions limit of 41 pupils per class from Year 3 to Year 6. All children are subject to the same admissions criteria, unless a child is in receipt of an Education Health Care Plan which names our school.

We encourage parents of children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities to visit the school before their child is admitted so that you know what is available for your child. Appointments can be made with either the Headteacher or SENDCo to have a look around and discuss what could be provided for your child. It has also been useful for children to look around the school, during the school day, so that they know what to expect before they start.

If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan they will follow a different admission and transfer process. Please continue to complete Durham County Council's parental preference form, as part of their admission process to a new school. You continue to have the right to request a particular school and this will be considered alongside the information we have about your child's special educational needs. The information would have been provided as part of the Education, Health and Care assessment or following the review meeting.
