Welcome to Year 6!

I am so excited for us all to share a fantastic year where we will be making so many memories for your final chapter at St. Francis.  I know that in our class we will show great strength, unity and respect for one another, while showing our Christian Values in all that we do.

Mrs Pickett will be teaching half of our Year 6 class for English and Maths, and we are very fortunate that we will have Mrs Stanwix between the two classes to support us.  For the first week back, we will be getting reacquainted with the routines of the day, getting to know each other again, working on displays and making the classroom feel like our own.  We will be participating in a range of discussions, philosophy enquiries and PSHCE to develop our skills for speaking and listening. 

I know that when you think of Year 6, you are probably thinking about SATs.  I do not want you to worry about or even think about these.  When we return in September we will come together and face it all - together.  As Mattie Stepanek says, ‘Unity is strength…when there is teamwork and collaboration wonderful things can be achieved’ and this is what will make our Year 6 so memorable.
