During Spring Term in Year 5, we have been learning about explorers and some of the most famous within the world: Magellan and Columbus; this has then linked to our class novel of 'The Explorer' by Katherine Rundell. From this, we have linked our Art, DT and Science of stain-glass painting, felting and space to help tie-in and create more fluidity.
In English, we have written a range of different genres, which included writing our own mystery based on our class novel, which involved using all of our senses, our English skills, our spelling rules, but mainly our own creative flair. I thoroughly enjoyed reading them!
Remember, Year 5, there are lots of activities in your home learning books to help you remember all of the learning we have done in previous weeks. Try to do a little bit each day but don't rush to get it all done at once! There are activities in there to keep your creative juices flowing. Remember, there are lots of games to help your memory keep ticking over on your: Times Tables Rockstars, Spelling Shed and Maths Shed! I have been checking to see who has been online and am very proud of all who have completed these so far.
On the Spelling and Maths sheds, I will be changing your spellings and Maths tasks each week, as usual, to keep you practising our Year 5 words, rules and maths skills.
Don't forget to keep active.
Keep it up and I will see you soon.
