"To be the best we can be"

Mrs Ryder’s class reports are available for collection from the office and if not collected will be sent home on Monday. After the excitement of the concert the children didn’t bring them home and Mrs Ryder sends her apologies.

Admiring our fresh produce!

Growing Together is a family learning food growing and cookery club run by OASES North East who are an outdoor and sustainability education charity based in County Durham. The project is funded by BBC Children in Need to help families to learn practical skills for healthy eating. The families grow, cook and eat their own produce during club time and have seeds and plants to continue at home.

St Francis CE Junior School started the project in April 2018 with a group of 8 - 9 families coming to the after school club. Each family was allocated their own small growing plot in the school garden and with seeds and plants provided through the project they started to grow their own vegetables. OASES staff provide expert gardening advice and work alongside the school staff to help the children and their carers to grow, harvest and cook their own vegetables. We have regular healthy snacks where the children taste a different vegetable that they have never eaten before.
