Perfect Performance Poetry Competition

Today we ended our Reading Week with house teams performing poems they had learnt in a morning session this week.

Mrs Wilkinson and Mr Bowes took their seats as the judges, finding inspiration from Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne!

Green kicked off the show with a group performance of The Dragon Who Ate Our School. Mrs Wilkinson was very impressed with their choric voice and actions.

Blue followed with MATILDA (the girl who told lies and burned to death). Mr Bowes commented on their confidence without the words.

Red performed Grandma Rap, complete with four Grandma's wearing curlers and big knits.  Mrs Wilkinson was impressed with the groupings and the clear rap.

Finally, Yellow took to the stage complete with musical instruments and a burglar! He wandered around during the performance stealing all the sounds and stashing them in his swag bag.

It it was an close call but for learning the poem off by heart...Blue house was awarded first place.

We have had a fun filled reading week, jam packed with activities, Shakespeare, Shadow Stealers and an adventure around Seven Stories.  We do love reading in St Francis and please visit the gallery to see what we have been doing.
