New Outreach Provision

Thank you to all the parents and carers who so kindly attended Emma's outreach factfinding meetings and completed questionnaires about the need for, suitability of and design ideas of our prosed new "Outreach Area" within the school grounds.  From the responses we received from this group and also the children in school, we were impressed by the breadth of possible identified uses. We are aware that our office area is not really "fit for purpose" as we often have situations where there are meetings with parents and professionals taking place in multi use offices that are cramped. The Outreach Annexe would provide a place where confidential meetings could take place with school personnel, it could be used to provide a social hub for older members of the community, additional teaching and learning space for dramatic arts, dance and music, a place for the pursuit of adult learning. The suggestions were endless and  thoughtful. The application for funding for the project has now been forwarded to the Diocesan Board of Education (who provide the school with all its "capital" requirements) and we will receive their response within the next two months. I really do hope we will be successful!!!

Story Writing 'Teach-In'

Story Writing 'Teach-In' 1
Parents and friends joined us in class, on the 6th February, for our third 'Teach-In.' Children were learning about story writing and enjoyed being able to use the adults ideas to improve their work. Thank you to everyone who came along. Our next 'Teach-In' will take place from 9-10am on Friday 20th March. The lesson will be on word problems, please come and join in!
As part of the Greggs Tackling Health Programme, Year 3/4 children are working with the Newcastle Falcons every Wednesday, this half term, to learn about healthy eating and exercise. The children are loving the sessions so far and were really excited to take part in the loudest crowd competition, which will take place on Friday 21st November. Their entry is below...but is LOUD! It will be played in the stadium alongside the crowd.
