Book Worms

Thank you Mrs Wilkinson!

Today our new books arrived and we were all very excited. Last week Mrs Wilkinson gave each class £100 to spend on books. We all visited one of our favourite book providers (which has quick delivery and lots of books for your money!) websites. It was a race against the clock, as orders had to be with her 20min later.

Each class selected and printed orders off containing at least 100 books. Now we cant wait for reading time to get our hands on them.

Lessons spill into Library Club

In Library Club this week Year 3/4 children persuaded the Y5/6 children to use the library to write information texts as extra homework tasks. Year 3/4 have been learning about information texts and how to write them. It was a busy session tonight with all children using Netbooks to publish their work. (15/01/15)

Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows????

Well, you could tell it was Mrs Cooper on Library Club duty tonight by the sweet smell of chocolate wafting form the Library and the lack of marshmallows in Mrs Lakey's drawer! Yes, this evening children shared stories over hot chocolate during on a dark, cold winters evening. Despite the cold outside a cosy time was had by all! (8.1.15)

Summer 2014 Reading Reward

For the Summer 2014 Reading Reward we went into Durham. We had lots of fun! We had won because we had been reading four times a week. We went to a café and had chocolate cake! It was very yummy. We also got to go to a book store. Our parents came with us. Next we went to some shops. Jessica was with her Mum, Evie was with her Nan and Michael was with his Dad. We all got some books. Evie bought a Minecraft and Diamond book. I chose a Monster High book and Michael found a Tom Gates book. The book shop was called Waterstones and there was just so much choice.
